Partner Visas

Partners or fiancés of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens may be eligible for a Partner Visa.

The categories are:

• Prospective Marriage: This is commonly called a fiancée visa.  The application must be lodged outside of Australia

• Spouse Visa, which includes married or de facto partners (including those in a same-sex relationship).  The application can be lodged in Australia if the applicant is in Australia and holds a visa that allows this to occur
